Who We Are
I graduated from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary in the spring of 2020, but don’t hold that against me. I love my wife of over 30 years, my son, and my daughter-in-law (especially my son, because he built this website). I like science fiction, vegetable gardening, home brewing, classic country music, provocative subversive language, Goodreads, Plants versus Zombies, and The Dresden Files. I spend too much time on Facebook. I have never taken a selfie. I try to figure God out and help people experience him. Sometimes it’s hard.

I am passionate about seeing families thrive in relationship with Jesus. I’ve been ministering to families for over 30 years. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Mason, specializing in children, teens, and marriages. Like Rick, I also studied at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary, where I was the first woman to receive the highest honors for theological studies. That kind of rocked my world, because it forced me to come to terms with the fact that I had been burying that gift, because I didn’t think it fit in with church culture. I’m changing that, and embracing with happiness my call to help people know God and his love for them. I like to read about science, ancient cultures, and theology. I dance to 21 Pilots with my cat. I spend most of my free time hanging out with kids, because I think that’s where all the fun’s at.
